Walking tours are some of the best ways to go sightseeing at a new place. When on a holiday at Port Macquarie, you can discover the Kooloonbung Creek Nature Park, which includes the Historic Cemetery, by foot.
Guests booked at South Pacific Apartments Port Macquarie family accommodation, can explore some 52 hectares of the Kooloonbung Creek Nature Park. The attraction has been developed to preserve an area of natural bushland with walking tracks and boardwalks where visitors can wander and enjoy the beauty of the area with its various eco-systems.
Visitors of our Port Macquarie apartments can get a map of the Park and information about the Park's eco-systems and wildlife on site, at the information hut, between the arboretum and the Historic Cemetery. This information is also available at the Greater Port Macquarie Visitor Information Centres.
They have the option to take the Walking Circuit 1 which includes the arboretum, mangroves, melaleucas, casuarinas, sedgelands, western and wetland walk and regenerating rainforest. The Walking Circuit 2, on the other hand is a shorter walk that includes the G.S. Sykes boardwalk, the eucalypt grove, mangroves, sedgelands and regenerating rainforest.
There are other walks visitors can take the nature park. All they have to do is choose a trail at the information centre and get started.
